Globe-trotting Dentist
Mir Faeq Quadri, Ph.D., M.S., B.D.S., FRSPH, FICD, a dental education professional with extensive research experience from around the globe, has joined the Hunt School of Dental Medicine as an assistant professor.
Neighborhood Smiles
El Pasoans had two big reasons to celebrate Neighborhood Smiles Day on Friday, Nov. 17. First, Marathon Petroleum announced a generous $50,000 gift in support of the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic. Second, 120 children received free dental exams as part of the special day.
$50K for Dental Scholarships
The Feinberg Foundation’s gift will provide scholarships that ease the financial burden of students receiving a world-class education at the Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Black: DentaQuest Hero
Hunt School of Dental Medicine Dean, Dr. Richard Black, has been named a DentaQuest Health Equity Hero for 2023.
Free Dental Days in May
The Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic will offer free dental screenings and cleanings for older adults, residents of the 79901 and 79905 ZIP codes, and college students by appointment with a valid ID.

El Paso Children’s Hospital, with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso, welcomed surgeons from all over the United States to participate in the 2nd Annual Symposium of Cleft Lip and Palate Deformities.
