Bel Air High School Library Partnership
Title V Grant Supports First High School Library Partnership With Bel Air High School
Texas Tech Health El Paso is excited to share a new partnership made possible through funding from our Title V grant. In collaboration with Bel Air High School and the Texas Tech Health El Paso Libraries, our institution has expanded academic support by providing online library access for health profession students and purchasing core health science books for the library to strengthen classroom instruction.
This collaboration is the first of its kind supported through this grant and highlights how shared educational resources can support students on their academic and career pathways in health‑related fields.
The Title V grant, known as Puentes Hacia El Éxito (“Bridges Toward Success”), was awarded by the U.S. Department of Education to support initiatives that strengthen academic programs and build connections with educational partners in the region. Through this grant, and with the support of the Texas Tech Health El Paso Libraries, we extended access to key academic resources and targeted instructional materials to benefit students preparing for careers in health professions.
Our work with Bel Air High School aligns with these goals by:
· Supporting students’ early engagement with health profession content.
· Enhancing classroom instruction with targeted library and text resources.
· Extending access to higher‑education academic tools to local high school learners.
Although the Department of Education has formally ended Title V funding, our Offices of Academic Affairs and Interprofessional Education remain committed to continuing this kind of work. We are actively pursuing new grant opportunities and institutional partnerships to support future collaborations that benefit students and educators across our region.
