Cancer Survivors Month
To mark National Cancer Survivors Month, the Texas Tech Health El Paso community honored cancer warriors by wearing lavender on Fridays in June. The color lavender represents awareness for all forms of cancer and serves as a symbol of hope, strength and support.
On the morning of Friday, June 12, dozens gathered at the Medical Education Building lawn to form a crowd-formation lavender ribbon, photographed from overhead. The photoshoot was organized by the Office of Institutional Advancement.
As the future Fox Cancer Center rises on our campus, Texas Tech Health El Paso thanks the campus community for being part of our mission to bring comprehensive cancer care to the Borderplex. By participating in Lavender Fridays, we celebrate survivorship, inspire hope, and remind those affected by cancer that they are never alone.
