Security Tips From the Texas Tech El Paso Police Department

  • If you have a first-floor office or area of responsibility, close your window shades at night to deter theft. This takes away a potential thief’s ability to inventory what they may want to steal: It is the “Out of Sight, Out of Mind” concept.

  • To deter automobile break-ins, do not leave valuable items, keys, or personal information in view of onlookers. Lock them in the trunk or place them out of sight.
