Neighborhood Smiles
El Pasoans had two big reasons to celebrate Neighborhood Smiles Day on Friday, Nov. 17. First, Marathon Petroleum announced a generous $50,000 gift in support of the Texas Tech Dental Oral Health Clinic. Second, 120 children received free dental exams as part of the special day.
Season of Thanks
The annual event to honor TTUHSC El Paso donors was made all the more special with the announcement of a new $250,000 gift from the Robisons to fund scholarships for Foster School of Medicine students.

L&F Distributors and El Perro Grande Tequila poured their hearts out by pledging to contribute $5 for every bottle of El Perro Grande tequila sold during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

A $200,000 grant from Trellis Foundation will address the critical nursing shortage by helping nursing students avoid the need for working outside jobs.

Life-Saving Grants
Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso and the Cancer Prevention and Research Institute of Texas (CPRIT) announced grants that will enhance preventive cervical cancer care in our Borderplex region and support research focused on acute myeloid leukemia.

Thwe Htay, M.D., FACP, assistant dean for student affairs and professor in the Department of Medical Education at the Foster School of Medicine, has been named a 2023 Piper Professor by the Minnie Stevens Piper Foundation.
